234 riders later, I found some time to write a couple or more blog articles, to share some thoughts I had while riding and guiding wonderful people.
Most of the riders when they contact us by mail or phone insist on asking to book for the spring and the summer months ignoring the fact that in our country, Greece and specially where we ride up in the North, weather is usually fantastic until early December. And when I say fantastic, I mean the average temperature is usually 15 degrees celsius and the lowest I have ever seen 10.
A sleeveless jacket, dry fit under layers, a buff and a set of gloves and socks are usually enough to keep you pleasantly warm and not sweaty during our rides.
The day is shorter but enough, the scolours around light brown to gold, creating a scenery with the fallen leaves from the trees feeding our eyes with calm and wonderful images.
We usually benefit from the naked trees. We can look around and observe with greater detail, creating a wider riding area since the trails show up better and we can plan our ride with wider choices and alternatives.
The season is also rich in tastes and food. The autumn fruits, berries and prunes, the fish from the local sea, red mullets and small anchovies, the salads on the table, green and tasteful, create alternatives in your mouth worth smiling for.
Late years, November is warmer, less rainy and cold. If you appear prepared there is one promise, you are definitely going to enjoy riding with us in November.
Thanasis, currently in “Ano Pedina” Zagori area, Greece.
